Wha is Best When Choosing Furniture

For decades, if you wanted to be considered a stylish person, you had to match.

Women had to match their lipstick with their nail polish, and their handbags to their shoes.

This concept extended beyond a person’s wardrobe, too.

In homes across the country, you’d find living room sets, dining room sets, and bedroom sets – all with three to seven pieces of furniture which matched in style, shape, and even color.

Times have changed, though, and we think it’s a change for the better.

The current trend is to mix things up a bit. We love this idea because it gives everyone the room to express their unique style and taste. And it’s fun!

Leather Furniture Is Ideal for both Traditional and Modern Rooms

When choosing furniture for your home, not every piece is going to fit your design aesthetic.

A richly colored rug with an elaborate floral design, for instance, won’t really fit into a contemporary, minimalistic living space.
But there is one piece of furniture which can fit nearly any design: leather furniture.

Leather couches, armchairs, and recliners are not only comfortable and durable – they work whether you have a traditional design or are going for a modern design.

The right couch can help improve and prevent back pain.

Conversely, the wrong couch can exacerbate an existing back issue.

If you’re in the market for a new couch, how do you know which one to choose?

Leather Scratches - How To Fix Leather Scratches and ScuffsAs we use our leather furniture daily we can brush up against it with rough objects or slide it into the wall while cleaning. Both circumstances can cause a scuff in the leather. Even pets can scuff or scratch furniture. Think about it? Leather is tough but just like anything else the surface can be broken. That does not mean your sofa is broken it just means it has a blemish that needs to be touched up with dye. I have a vacuum cleaner that hits the same spots at the bottom of my sectional leather sofa and removes the color each time I vacuum. I have a special spot on the base of my vacuum that is navy blue from the dye transfer. I don’t stress! A little color removed or a small nick in the leather is not considered a defect and will not harm my sectional sofa.

All top grain leather is cut to the exact same thickness by computer. Where it is pulled tight like an arm panel or tight back sofa the leather will feel different than say on a seat cushion, back pillow or out arm where the leather is loose. These blemishes or scuffs, scratches are more likely to occur where the leather is pulled tight since the leather has no give in those areas. The most common spots seem to be arms and corners.

What Can I Do About Scratches And Scrapes On My Leather Furniture?

Furniture Made in the USA

Made in America – we’ve all seen the labels and occasionally make a conscious decision to purchase products made in the U.S.

But when it comes to bigger purchases – like recliners and sofas – do we purposely choose those manufactured in America? Or, is our sole focus on the price and style?

Choosing American-made furniture is actually a really important decision to make. The quality of the pieces often depends on where they’re made. And of course, the choice to buy from American companies can have an economic impact as well.

Today, we’ll show you why choosing furniture made in the United States is one of the best purchasing decisions you’ll ever make.

4 Tips for Finding the Best Big and Tall Recliner

We all come in different shapes and sizes.

But it seems like a lot of furniture manufacturers don’t recognize this. Or, they simply forget about it when designing and fabricating their furniture.

And unfortunately, it’s a problem. It seems like a lot of furniture is trying to fit a “one-size-fits-all” ideal, but this is impossible. Have you ever tried to sit in a recliner which was way too small? It’s really uncomfortable.

Most of us show a measure of concern over whether our workspace and tools are ergonomically correct. Why shouldn’t our living space be just as functional and comfortable?

Thankfully, not everyone has forgotten there are big and tall people out there who want to be comfortable when they sit down and relax for a bit.

Here are some tips which will help you find the best recliner for your shape and size.

Whether you live in a small space by choice or because of circumstances, one thing is for sure: They aren’t always easy to furnish.

Not only are you limited to how much you can fit into each room – you’re limited to the size of your furniture pieces.

This can make shopping for furniture difficult, especially when you have a specific piece in mind – like the awesome sectional sofa you’ve been eyeing lately.

If you’re like most people, though, you probably put the idea of a sectional out of your mind. There’s no way something like this would fit in your small space, right?

Actually, we like to think anything is possible. You just have to think outside the box a bit.

It’s time to buy a new sofa. This is an exciting prospect. The couch is one of the focal pieces within a living space. It can make your space look luxurious, cozy, and inviting.

While the idea of shopping for a couch is exciting at first, it can quickly become overwhelming simply because of all of the choices you have.

For example, should you get a traditional sofa, or should you invest in a sectional? This should probably be the first question you ask. Once you have this figured out, then you can focus on color, material, and overall style.

Cleaning and Conditioning Leather FurnitureYou have invested in high quality leather furniture? It’s so easy to extend the life of your new sofa or sectional with very little effort. Cleaning and conditioning your new leather furniture should become part of your routine. Always dust it when you dust your other furniture but if you have hard spills or your leather feels dry, clean it with a soft cleaner then add a little conditioner.

Although leather breaths naturally through it pours it too can become dry just as our skin does when exposed to the elements. Leather stays soft by taking in the water droplets from the air. If you keep your home hot or live in a part of the country that is very dry your leather furniture needs a little TLC occasionally.
