Our entire staff attends this furniture market twice each year. Furniture Showrooms Were Colorful And Loaded With New Product

Furniture shoppers can expect to find showrooms and online retailers showing colors other than brown. The furniture showrooms we visited during our days in High Point were full of bright colors of leathers and fabrics. McKinley Leather featured exciting hues of bold bright shades of blues and reds complimented with bright poppy colored throw pillows. Some were solid while others featured contemporary patterns and designs. They have a knack for using patterned leathers with solids to create truly one of kind pieces. This is a favorite stop for our buyers because McKinley pays such attention to detail throughout their entire leather furniture showroom. We can always expect the entire showroom to feature fine artwork and pictures from local artists. I must admit we spend lots of time in their showroom because each and every piece of their leather furniture is so comfortable. Lori from the factory actually asks our staff’s opinion about any new living room sets or accent pieces. She respects our opinion and if we have a suggestion after-market she goes back to the plant and makes the changes. Another favorite of our buyers is always Bradington Young. They usually feature more browns than any other colors but this market they stepped out and displayed hues of brighter colors and kept it neutral with lots of different shades of taupe’s and greys. This is still a more mescaline showroom but we were pleased to see the brighter mix this spring. They also brought more color to their showroom with rugs that complimented the leather products and as always serve some of the best lunch in all of High Point!

McNeilly Furniture has a rather small space but they always do such a nice job with the display. They have added more leather recliners and are now offering lounge chairs with the tilt back feature. Cindy, our hostess, has also added several solid color fabrics and tweeds to use on the entire line of furniture. You may now cover any of their living room groups in all fabric, all leather or a combination of the two. Each of the fabrics they are now offering is treated to repel spills just like the leather.

Palatial Furniture introduced not only a few new frames in leather but several in fabric. A lot of their furniture products are stocked in High Point so we ship Palatial products quick. We can still special order any of their furniture in any color of leather or fabric but the wait time runs anywhere from 12 to 16 weeks. They do a great job with tufted furniture like the chesterfield leather sofa in various sizes and in stock in very popular colors. We also pay them a visit at the furniture market in Las Vegas. A few of our buyers do attend this market annually. They are one of only a few of the companies we sell for that show there. Although their showroom in High Point is larger it is still beneficial to see them three times per year to stay on top of their products and any changes made to the line.

Omnia Furniture This was a new stop for our all women staff. This company is still American made but they manufacture in California not North Carolina. We were stunned by the workmanship shown with each piece of furniture we sat in. They make the absolutely most comfortable bar stool in the market place. I have sat in a lot of bar chairs and leather bar stools through the years and these by far were the most comfortable ever. We found them to be the number one favorite piece at this year’s furniture show. We were over the top impressed with their king size sofa sleeper and the fact that you can get a tempur-pedic mattress vs a standard innerspring. You will be impressed with the ease of the open and the close of this sleeper. Take a look how easy their recliners are to operate. We also were shown an ottoman that opens up into a twin size bed for extra sleeping space for company. Believe it or not it was comfortable to lie on. Another item we were impressed with was the fact that you can add lift options to most any of their recliner chairs. This is a big plus for older folks needing that extra push to get up from the reclined position. Omnia Furniture is a line we will be offering with the rest of the high end leather products we offer. This is an upper end leather furniture company that will fit well with the leather furniture we already offer. This is a new step for Wellingtons because we have never sold a west coast furniture manufacturer before but we feel sure they will be a perfect fit into our product offerings. Wellington’s Plans to Add a Fabric Line to Their Leather Furniture Offerings

We have put a great deal of thought into offering a fabric line to complement our leather furniture offerings. We have visited various showrooms over the past few years and have made or decision. We selected a company to build this line for us private label. (The Ludlow Collection) This will be a complete fabric furniture line that offers sofas and loveseats, sectional sofas, rockers and sleepers. The fabric will complement the leather we offer. Now Wellington’s can fill your room with all leather furniture, all fabric upholstery or a mixture of both. This collection will price in the mid-range but the quality is top notch. All of the products we will offer in “The Ludlow Collection” are handmade in North Carolina. We will feature fabrics in solids, patterns and florals. You can expect beachside vibrant pastel and primary colors along with popular solids. Sunbrella fabrics are going to be available on any of the styles. These fabrics can with stand bleach and will never stain. The frames range in styles from transitional to traditional. There will be several slipcover looks as well as standard furniture frames like a track arm or rolled arm. Our Ludlow Collection will ship coast to coast for free just as our leather furniture products and you can expect delivery times to run approx. 6-8 weeks for all custom orders.
